Dig a little deeper

There is only a thin membrane between what the world sees and the lived reality of my life. I may seem fine as I mask the pain, but if you excavate, even just a little, you will find it is all completely raw. Lost in the ebb and flow of heartbreak and despair, I am angry. I am difficult. I am defeated.

Dig a Little Deeper is the emotional excavation of that raw space. This body of work functions as both a continuation and a rupture from my previous series, All Roads Lead to Salvation. While my earlier work sought to process trauma through a soft, pastel pink palette, creating a delicate, masked veneer, Dig a Little Deeper deliberately strips that comforting shield away.

By transforming the act of revisiting my photographic archive into a metaphor for bodily and systemic excavation, the work punctures the thin membrane of compliance. It moves past the polite boundaries of endurance and descends straight into the claustrophobia, anger, and heartbreak of a sixteen-year battle against chronic pelvic pain and medical neglect. What remains is an unfiltered look at a life held in a permanent holding pattern of physical grief.

This standalone body of work brings forward the darker, shadow-heavy images that were intentionally omitted from the initial edit of my series, All Roads Lead to Salvation
